About Us
Birch Creek is a family run retail garden center located on a quiet side road along the beautiful shores of Lake Huron. Husband & Wife team (Claire & Andy) built the greenhouse from the ground up and opened in April of 2019. Both born and raised on family farms in Huron County, Andy and Claire are no strangers to hard work, patience, and perseverance all while working with the rhythms of nature. With the addition of two sons since opening, this operation has become a true family run business with little hands eager to get into the dirt! Together they make a great team with their amazing staff and furry friend that we can’t forget to mention, Jim!
Andy Roest - owner, grower
Andy, a true farmer at heart, is a motivated and capable, multi-talented individual balancing chores in the barn and out on the field, and the garden center. He is the grower, inspector, waterer, muscle & mulch guy. Some refer to him as “Handy Andy,” he is always willing to help with a smile.
Claire Roest - owner, manager, florist
Claire, the creative mind of the two, grew up on a farm as well helping her parents run their own small retail greenhouse (Sunset Springs). Her love and passion for flowers along with her eye for design and creativity can be seen throughout the greenhouse. Claire is the creative mind that keeps things interesting at Birch Creek. She chooses all the plant products and designs new exciting combinations you see in the greenhouse, as well as being the face behind all the wedding & event florals. Claire holds a certificate in Floral Design, graduating with honours in 2012. With 7 years of experience working at a flower shop, her expertise, creativity, and attention to detail have created beautiful bouquets for many special occasions.
